Starting out with some Cresties

So i think i'm going to get a crested soon (or a few) :)
I am going to hide them in my dorm room since i cant have my ball pythons here, and they seem like the best option. :P

A few questions, I've read they don't NEED crickets, but should i get them for them once a week? I will be buying mice then for my BPs anyway so it wouldn't be a problem.

I'm also wondering about cage sizes for housing multiple cresties together. I think im going to buy an exo terra and let these be my "display" animals. So my question is which of the glass terrariums is the best option to comfortably hold 2 cresties? and which is the best to comfortably hold 3?

They do not require crickets or any other insect however if you wish to feed your Crestie crickets as a treat every now and than it's fine.

While Cresties can be house together keep in mind you should only do so with a group of females or a male and a female, in that case also keep in mind that they should be separated for several month to rest the female.

Also keep in mind that juvies will bully one another (causing one to not eat as much and therefore not grow at the same rate) which is why I would recommend raising them separately in a tub until they reach adulthood and than house them together in an enclosure large enough for them.

Deborah basically said it all. They are incredibly easy to take care and have perfect personalities.

I would wait to purchase the display tank until around a year of age. This will give you plenty of time to find what works best for you. The Exo-terra and Zoo-Meds are the go to for a lot of people because they are heavily advertised. Search around, there are a ton of other great caging companies as well.

I would keep my hatchlings in small critter keepers, on paper towels with a little water dish and I would put CGD in every couple days. You wont need to put much in, they eat a very small amount

Ok thanks, everybody, I had seen the care sheet but was just wondering about space requirements. Also i was hoping for females but 3 out of 3 is a lot to ask for :P

I will probably just start out with one and then once i figure out whether its male or female i'll add another one. (I'm going to Repticon ATL so that will give me something that's not SUPER expensive to buy, haha)

Looks like its a gonna be a hatchling with a kritter keeper for now. :)

Crested Geckos are flooded almost everywhere it seems like. You should have some quality options to choose from. Good luck! I'm getting 10 unsexed hatchlings when the temperatures decide to cool down here in Arizona.

You will love them, I am holding my adult male as I type. He is very calm, unlike my female.

Good, i didn't know how common they were, i figured they were pretty common though. This will be my first expo and i'm pretty pumped. Good luck with the 10 hatchlings, that sounds awesome! :P

Thanks! You better know what you are getting into with the expos. If you go to one you are going to get way too sucked in and you will HAVE to attend everyone within a few hour drive. They are a ton of fun. I can't wait for the Tucson, AZ show on the 24-25th of September. There is also a show in Phoenix every year in November. That's where I got my first male crested from.
