    Rack thermostat question.
I'm planning my rack but I'm confused on one thing. How many thermostats will I need? Is it 1, per shelf, 1 per tub size, or 1 per rack? Thanks!

I use one for an 8 tub rack. An only one output from it. I have a herpstat 2. Wire all the different tubs to a powerbar an then to the thermostat. If u have a 2 out put one then u could always go half on one out put and half on the other. But i prefer to use the second for something else.. In my case my room heater. But u could use it on a light or another set of heating elements.. Such as an incubator. Each output is set individually

As long as your shelves and tubs are the same, one thermostat is plenty. Just make sure that your thermostat can handle the amount of watts your flexwatt is using.

Thanks very much for the input! I think I may do 2, just because I'll have a mix of hatchling tubs and juvi tubs (for now!) and I don't want to cook the babies, or freeze the juvis :O!

You can run multiple racks on one thermostat but you need to know what you wattage load rating is for the thermostat you have.

Like everyone else said. And also you'll prolly have to set the thermostat higher. I have both thermostats set for 98 and it keeps the hot spot at 92-93. Just so ur aware in case you setup and start wondering

Forgot to add that if multiple racks are on the same stat need to be the same size i.e you wouldnt run a 3in heat tape rack on the same stat as 11in
