Business name questions?

I would like to start up a facebook business page when I reach my first level of success, hopefully this upcoming season when I hatch out my first BPs. It would be for people to see my collection, updates, for sale, care sheets, all that jazz.

My question is do I need to do anything special to have a name? Can I just decide on a name and go with it, or do I need a copyright? How has everyone else here gone about it?

I don't think you really need to do anything special to have a business name. I would do a few quick searches to make sure no one is using it first.

I want a make a website so I when I decided on my name I registered the domain name I want for it. That was about all I did, now I just need to get my web site up and running and start producing some babies. :)

Definitely do a search before you chose a name. If it's important to you, go through the steps to trademark it once you get established.

You might want to check with your states business tax laws etc.

You've got to go to your states secretary of state office website. You will have to file a DBA, otherwise you can't legally use any name other than your own.
