How often should I replace the substrate?
I have a 3 month old bee BP named Tuna. Is there a set time I should be changing the substrate or just spot cleaning it is enough?

That is great!
OP, what are you using for substrate? If its something like newspaper or aspen, I would change it as soon as its soiled. If its something a little fancier like coconut husk or birch/orchid bark, then spot clean as needed and change once a month or so. If it looks nasty or starts molding, pitch it.
My $0.02

I think it's up to you, but when I had mine on aspen, I spot cleaned daily and did a complete change-out once a week.
That got a little expensive, and I kept finding poos and urates buried in the aspen that I hadn't seen when spot-cleaning, so I switched to newsprint. I check daily and change it out if it's dirty.
Hope that helps. :)

I use Aspen also - I spot clean on a daily basis and give the tanks a good clean every month or so.
