I know your probley getting tired of me!!! But we have a baby ball in a 30 gal, it is overloaded with stuff she she feels safe. She was eating well until shed and has stoppedfor 3 weeks now.
The temps are great in the tank, however; the humidity stinks. I even got rid of the CHE and now the humidity is worse!! The tanks is wrapped in foam board and the top is covered with tinfoal and foam board. There are a few water sources in the tank.
So with all that said I went to walmart last night to get a tub. NONE of the tubs seemed secure. All the locking lids locked great on the ends, but in the middle a larger snake could push it up and get out. What do I do about that. I can not put her in a tub if it is not secure!! I would then go crazy :rolleye2: wondering all day and night if she is getting lose or if she is trying and got stuck in the lid trying to get out. What tubs do you get? Or should I just convert my tank to the side ways tank?
http://members.cox.net/tsy72001/Snake/DSCF1527.JPG This is the cool side, the humidity is not 70% after turning of the CHE, it is now 55%.
http://members.cox.net/tsy72001/Snake/DSCF1526.JPGThis was the top, I now have the CHE taken off and the flap closed.
    http://members.cox.net/tsy72001/Snake/DSCF1524.JPG Whole tank.
http://members.cox.net/tsy72001/Snake/DSCF1522.JPG Hot side, the humidity is now 38% and not 50% after turning off the CHE.

you sure put a lot of work into that tank:O

most people keep their tubs in a rack but securing the middle of a tub is not hard at all.............big books or my favorite "ratchet strap":D

If you were removing the CHE to try and lower your humidity. Have you tried just moving the water bowls closer to the cool side?

If you want to raise humidity move it closer to the heat source. If you want to lower move it away. Dont apologize for asking questions. That's what I do when I don't know something. That's what people are here for.

Your humidity was too high at 70% with the CHE and now it is too low without the CHE right??

Put the che back and move the water away from it.
cant believe I am telling someone to put a CHE back, but it was working

The 15qt sterlite tubs w/ locking lids are fine, if you want to secure the sides, use binder clips, they work well, as far as raising humidity, add moistened natural sea sponges.

If your looking for a really secure tote lowes has ones that are water tight and have more latches around the sides would need lots of holes though

    Here's a link to what I'm talking about http://www.irisusainc.com/p-615-ucb-l.aspx

Do you have a uth? Setting a water bowl partially on that may help raise humidity
