    New large normal female pickup
This guy had an ad on a local classifieds for an adult 4ft+ BP, it had a picture and judging by the size of the snake i was willing to take a chance it was female. I had to drive 20 miles out of town so i had to make sure this was an ok deal.

He wanted $150 for the whole set up. So for $150 I got a 40 gal (I think) reptile tank with lockable screen lid, lamps, undertank heater, various accessories, a 62 qt rubbermaid with pre drilled holes (he used it for bathing her) and after weighing and sexing...the best part of all a gorgeous 2130g female normal BP.

She had A LOT of stuck shed, he was keeping her on coconut fiber bedding and it was not at all humid enough for her to shed right. So after a good soak she lost most of the stuck shed. She looks a little on the thin side for her size, they were feeding her one live med rat once a month. After a few good once a week feedings with me she should be ready to breed this year with my other females. Ill put her on my rack with my others after a quarantine. And from what they were saying shes an '04 or '05 snake. I felt pretty good about the whole deal :) Except when their 6 year old daughter cried that i was taking the snake way. :(

Anyways after all that heres some pics!

Congrats! How's her eyes look? My normal had lots of stuck caps and I couldn't get them off. I'm waiting for a shed from her but I'm pretty sure she's blind in one eye and partial in the other. It hasn't slowed her down and she's up 150g since she arrived.

    Regards,

her eyes look scaley, kind of a few wrinkles on them. probably from not ever having the right humidty for shedding time. I hope with a couple more good soaks over the next few weeks she should lose them. They dont look blinding at least.

I did feeding day yesterday and this girl ate a med f/t rat without hesitation.
I love getting a new snake that "oh it only eats live"and then takes a f/t right away:D
Getting fed once a month made this girl a hungry snakey.
She should pack some extra weight on before breeding season no problem.this makes me a happy panda

That's awesome I love getting big pet females from online ads. Usually they are great deals and ready to breed.
