    Cry :(
My pastel lesser male passed away.. :(

I went out of town this morning for my wife's birthday. I came home & a neighbor stopped me before we went inside and said power been out since like 10am & just came on at about 7pm.. So I naturally ran in to check my babies. I am so pissed right now!

I have a girl that is a bit sluggish but other 2 were smart enough to get inside their water bowls & seem perfect. Thermonitor was reading 95 right now, I clicked to see the high & it says 113 (this is on the cool side)..

He seemed in perfect health so I am assuming he got too hot & cooked..

I am so flipping upset... :rage:

I'm sorry for your loss :( I was devistated when my first snake died, way back a few years ago before I got back into collecting.

Question though: When the power came back on when you were away, did it spike up the temps on your flexwatt or UTH (a bit confused as to what happened)? Were they controlled with a thermostat or at least a dimmer?

I have a herpstat so it shouldn't of spiked. It is reading 91.4 which gives me 90 in the tub. My house is old & is not insulated very well. The room I have them in gets very hot without the air on. According to my neighbor her outdoor thermonitor got to 110 in the shade. So ya basically the house just got too hot and cooked them. I have a accurite & on the cool side read 113 for the max.

Really sucks to loose a $800 snake.. I think I am going to go get a generator asap so if this happens again I can at least have that room's window cooler on to avoid this. Very hard way to learn this lesson..
