    Renters Insurance
We are getting renters insurance for our apartment. It asks us to value our personal items in our apartment. I figure this means things like furniture, clothes, etc.

My question is, should I include the value of my racks and snakes?

I would think so, although I don't think they'll cover the snakes.

They will not be covered with your home insurance.

You can list the equipment, but they won't cover live animals. And if you choose to list the equipment, I would use some kind of general terminology. I wouldn't say "snake rack", for instance. One, because they wouldn't know what a snake rack is anyhow. But more importantly, because our world is far too full of bureaucratic busy-bodies who are all too willing to dig into your personal life and reject policies and claims because you have a lifestyle, hobby, dog breed that they don't like.

Aye. Call it a "shelving unit," that appropriately describes it. ;)
