    size/ age question (pictures :D)
    Hey guys!

Okay, so I picked up a bunch of het. Axanthics (2.3) off of a breeder who was getting out of the breeding business - but he came with references from a well respected breeder in my area.

All of them came from the same clutch but one is significantly smaller than the other male. I haven't weighed them yet but I was changing their substrate today and I took a couple pictures to see what you guys think.

This is the little wildtyp het. axanthic guy - we've nicknamed him Tiny (his hatch date is August 28 2009)

sorry.. I know they're not great pictures but I didn't want to harass them too much as they are still very new.

What do you guys think... weird right..
Both are great eaters, and tiny is actually a better hunter :S LOL

now Tiny was a return from a family that was afraid of him so I don't know how well he's been fed for the last two years but even still..

Do you guys think I could get him up to breeding size in his life time? Either way he's won my heart and is here to stay - but I would like to see him make some axanthics :P :).

    Cheers!

He's already breeding size. There are numerous reports of ~350 gram males producing clutches. And if he's 2 years old he's probably producing sperm plugs too.

Just make sure you fatten him up a bit before trying to mate him in case he goes off of feed. You don't want him getting any smaller.
