Day 49, Cut 1 Egg.

Okay, So I posted a thread back in the start of July about a clutch off eggs.
I got 7 eggs, 1 went bad from the start. It seemed to be small and wasn't very plump. So the remaining 6 eggs looked fine. A week in and 3 eggs started showing signs of green, but it wasn't from the outside, It appeared it was coming from within. I continued incubation like regular and now Im at day 49.
All of the eggs appear to be doing great. Besides the fact that 3 eggs had progressed with this green/eventually going black spot.

heres some pics of an egg I broke down and cut today. I was really wondering what was going on with the dark spotted eggs.

So after cutting and closer inspection. I realized that the dark spot on the egg is where the yolk had adhered itself to the eggshell. It looked as if the egg was trying to get rid of the yolk by pushing it away/out.

The baby in that egg is still alive and seems to be doing okay.

I just wanted to get some opinions on as to whats going on. This is my first season breeding. But have been watching and learning from others breeding for over 5 years.

How could this have happened? I may shed some light on what could have happened. The eggs where lay'd while I was away on vacation and could have been inside the tub on the hot side for up to 7 days. It appears all the eggs that have this green/black spot, were the ones that were on the floor directly above the heating pad.

So while I was away, she lay'd and the eggs sat and could have potentially got partially "cooked". Maybe destroying the viability of the yolk? The egg then recognizes that the yolk has went bad, and starts to eject it from its process somewhat?

Let me know what you think. Have you seen other eggs like this? Where the yolk moved to the wall of the egg and egg show'd signs of something going a little bit wrong?

The pastel in the egg seems to be fine(time will tell), hes gonna be a littleguy, his egg was the smallest around 70-80g while the others are around 100-115g.

Any comments, questions!? I would love to hear what some people think. Thanks for looking.

It looks like mold is growing on the eggs. It's close to hatching so I don't think its too bad but I know some people recommend putting foot powder on them to kill the mold, but u already cut it.

There is no mold on the eggs, there never was. The color you see on the outside of the egg, is coming from the inside. Thanks for your input though.

i am no expert..but you cut too early..i never experienced that kind of problem..but i have seen my friends blood python eggs with that kind of 'yolk' pressed up to the wall..and he just let it be and cut after day 60...and you know what,actually that thing does not look like egg yolk to me..for me,its more like infection which prevented from entering the eggs..its kinda mechanism to trap pathogenic microb from entering the eggs..just my opinion based on observation..

That is not the yolk, the yolk is under the snake. That is some of the albumen that is on the shell wall.

Slackerz, in this case I agree he cut to earlier for his knowledge of breeding but I have personally cut eggs as early as day 35 and had perfect babies out of those eggs if you can take care of them properly then they will be fine so what ever it is did not come about from cutting at day 49 as a beginner breeder the earliest I would ever recommending cutting is day 52 as you learn what to look for and what days your babies hatch out then the earlier you can cut but please dont take what I have said and use it my opinion is my own and I don't ever recommend cutting earlier than day 45 even if you feel that you can take care of the eggs but good luck on the babies
