    hey I'm planing on getting a male pastel BP and I got a free tank from my friend it is a:cens0r:
    36"L x 12"W x 17"T is this to big for one male? or is it good if I add alot of hiding spots? and I plan on breeding him in the future how should I do that I will be breeding him with my friends spider female she live right next to me and when I breed him should I just put him in the females tank or something els any helpful advise is aprecated thanks in advance :) and this will be my first ball python but I have other snakes and I have been researching them and learning to care for them for almost 3 years so I know how to take care of them

    Frankly for me, if you have the space, the bigger the tank is the better. Make as natural habitat looking as possible especially if you are keeping them more as a pet :-)

    How old is the pastel that you are getting?
    If it is a young one, yes the tank is too big.

    Will it stress a young BP if it is in a big tank given that it has a the right size hide just enough for it?

    I don't know how old it will be but if I put a divider in the cage and put him on one side would that work? and off topic what would happen if I bred it to a super lesser platinum? thanks for ur help

    Sorry I can't help with the breeding advice. If it's less than a year I would split the tank just for a little while until it gets some size on it. My ball is in a 2 foot by 4 foot cage, but he's just a pet. Your tank probably will get him into adult hood. I know my friend who breeds keeps them in tubs a little larger than a 41qt tub. But I'm not sure on the exact dimensions.
