    Odd behavior?
So, I've had my lovely ball since April. He's my first snake and I'm happy to say i adore him, even if he's not so keen on me. He eats regularly and has shed twice since my purchase of him. However, he's not used to human contact. I haven't handled him much sinc egetting him because two of the pieces in his setup, hollowed and dried bamboo pipes, were his favorite hides. And well, one he's in there he's not coming out. But since his last shed about two weeks ago he's shot up and gotten pretty big (still a baby though) so I removed the pipes, simply because he was still trying to wedge himself into them when he clearly didn't fit. I also got a couple extra mice his last feeding day so I could feed him when he got hungry. And those mice just so happen to be in an old hamster tank on a shelf above and to the left of his own. And, well, I've been working on handeling him more so that he'll stop being shy.

But, since making these changes he's been acting funny. As opposed to coiling up under his remaining hide (a half log) during the day, he pressed himself into the corner of the tank closest to the mice (the hot side) and slept there. He was also up periodically through the day, when normally I'm lucky if he comes out before 11. I tried feeding him just incase it was the mouse smell attracting him. he played with the mouse but didn't actually strike. Is this just him reacting to changes in his schedule or should I worry?

    Please and thank you~

The change in his cage could cause the behaiver such as not eating not hiding. I am having this problem. I had to go set out a citation for no vehical registration. And since my mom was the one watching over my big girl and I didnt want her to deal with poop I put aspin in her tube over newspaper. And then she was a week and a half off scheduled feeding. She would not take a rat at all.

Her one hide the only hide in her cage is a dog food/water bowel. That has the opening around the bowel when it was also her water dish she would hide in the opening around the bowl. When I stopped using that as a water dish and took it out and put a box in her tube she would not use the box. She wont use anything but this bowel she will get right up under nieth it and I will sit on top of her.

Bassicly what I am saying if it wont eat let it be you changed its enviroment and thats like bring it home for the first time.

Thank you. I'll leave him alone for a few days and let him relax before getting him back on his feed schedule. Your advice was extremely helpful.
