Picked up two today + the new DIY mini rack
so we're jumping back in but no more glass tanks b/c of the humidity battle. So I built a little mini rack. I "borrowed" the idea from the boaphile sideways rack but I only made two shelves as it's all we need for now. The humidity is up and stable with out any extra effort or equipment (finally), and I love the option of changing the arrangement around between two 15's or a 30qt on each shelf! Here are the new additions. (and we now have room for more!)

first we have Melissa, the yellow along her back is so cool

and this is Pickles (AKA Piddles) we agreed on pickles, but when my eight yr old ran in yelling "you gotta come look at Piddles!" I LMAO and said, yeah, he's Piddles now. .

and here's both of them, we think they are soooooo beautiful

Here's the rack, still waiting for the flexwatt, so I pulled an 11" exoterra UTH off of the old enclosure (Goo Gone and scraper worked great!) and hooked up the herpstat. (rubber bands are b/c Melissa's tub won't go back far enough until I put in the flexwatt) Also there aren't any probes in the enclosure so ignore the temps on the dig display

    Thanks for looking!

Super stinking cute! I hope you love your spider. Mine has the most personality ever. Does she wobble (yet?)

I've seen her do some "upside down" exploring (resulting in a dunk in her water bowl) I'm excited for the first feeding, I'll cut her some slack if she needs a couple of tries to hit it ;)
Piddles has some great color too! I don't know if these pics do them justice, I'll have to (eventually) set up a light tent (we have a couple of years til possible clutches and super cute baby pics)

Thanks!! My daughter and I are so happy with these two sweeties. And I'm glad others think that they're as nice looking as we do! we got them both for $250, I think we did pretty good! I'm not sure that the color of my pics even do them justice (phone cam). the spider is female and the yellow on her back really stands out, the pastel is a male and he is super friendly. Can't wait til they're acclimated, we are both dying to hold them again! (but we will wait)

super cute! and nice rack. i'll probably do something like that when i move out and can get my snakes, as i'm just starting with 2 females. when you set up your flexwatt, will you just let the wires come out the side of each level? and did you just find a shelf that those tubs could fit in snugly? just wondering for future-me :) wish my mom liked snakes and got me some as a kid!

I cut the boards to the height of the tubs, I used the same sterilite tubs that the boaphile sideways sweater box rack uses specifically because the 15 and 32qt are the same height. All if the wiring comes out through openings in the removable back panel. I will post pics when I'm installing the flexwatt so you can see the wiring with the back open later this week. I may also put a strip of flexwatt on the open top of the cabinet for use with smaller hatchling tubs and a temporary placement of tubs while cleaning etc. .

Congrats on the pickup! Good lookin and quite a deal! I'm sourcing parts to build a hatchling rack for the babies in my 'bator, what did you get the building materials from? All of the shelves I am finding are 11.8" deep, where as the shoeboxes are 13" deep. I'm gettin frustrated lookin around, and will just have some Melamine cut if I can't find an easier way.
