my new bp keeps striking at me
How can i go about taming my new male? I got the little guy this week and he tagged me when I put him in his new enclosure, and when I was changing his water tonight he tried to get me again. :(

Make sure you don't smell like food (rats/mice)...
Leave him alone for a week or two ... let him adjust to his new home ...
After that handle him for 5-10 minutes every so often...

Sometimes babies are just defensive, they will calm down

My female ghost was the only BP I have ever had that tried to bite me. She calmed down a month or two after I got her with regual short handling sessions. Our hands are bigger than they are, I'd bite at me too!

Babies can be nippy...especially during shed or when hungry...they'll calm down and be mellow like Balls usually are...:)

Anoher technique I use is that I will ALWAYS use hand sanitizer before I pick them up, or change water, or spot clean the enclosure (of course making sure rub my hands until there is no more wet hand sanitzer and my hands have dried). I have two guys that use to shoot right out of their enclosures when I first got them and was simply changing their water but now I can reach in with no sign of that defensive move. The only time I don't use hand sanitizer is on feeding day and on that day I don't mess with them at all.
