Is this normal if he is in shed?

Day 9 and my adult ball python has not shed yet, but he has not come out of his hide at night or day for the past 9 days. Im pretty sure he is shedding cuz his skin has dulled and his belly was pink for the first 4 days. I'm pretty sure it isnt a belly burn cuz the warm side is 89-90 degrees. Is this normal for an adult ball python to be in his hide all day and night during the shedding process? I've kept him almost a month, fed him before the shed. Also, can I feed a f/t rat when he is in shed?

I's really depend on specimen.... 9 days after he get pink is right about to shed... Is he clear up or not yet.. If yes... Spray his enclosure a little bit to rise humidity maybe is to dry for him to shed properly.. and yes You can feed f/t during shed process :gj::gj::gj:

I usually don't feed until after he has shed. He prolly wouldn't take it anyways also yeah its normal just keep the humidity a little bit higher then normal (around 60-65) an be sure to check in his hide for the shed.

humidity is 67 68 % and what do you mean if things cleared up? His eyes i think have gotten less foggier. his color is still dull though.

i would take pics but he can be grumpy and angry at times.

Spray a little ( i use cheap 99 cent store spray bottles) bumo humidity to around 75% he should shed today or tomorrow:gj:

I wouldn't say its normal for all ball pythons but my pastel always stays in his hide during his shed. After he sheds he takes a nice little dump and is ready to eat.

That sounds normal to me. I'd not suggest feeding during a shed. The soon to shed skin is not as elastic as the regular skin and if there is a food lump on rare occasions the shed can get 'stuck' on the lump and not be able to pass over it can be (not likely but it has happened) becomes an emergency.

The only time I have ever been bit was when I fed during shed! The will stay in their hides because they cannot see very well and are vulnerable to attacks from predators!
