To Other Breeders- Your Thoughts Please....
This is only my second year Breeding Balls. My only clutch last year and my first clutch this year came from the same female.
My second clutch this year are from a virgin Spider. From the beginning, Her eggs seemed different to me. The shells were not quite as tough as the other female`s eggs. But, all the way thru, they`ve candled with amazing veins and I spotted movement early. Now her eggs are at Day 42. When I open the egg container, they appear a bit deflated but after a few minutes they`ve plumped back up again. And all babies appear to have a healthy ammount of movement. I am not like panicky worried or anything, just very curious as to whether or not this is normal. Here are some pics....

When I first open the egg container-

After a couple minutes of fresh air-

    Thank You,

I'm far from an expert, but I think they will be fine. The eggs start to generate their own heat up to 2 weeks before hatching and will make your container sweat. They will also start deflating close to hatching time!

    Good luck!

Right I know they begin to deflate close to hatching. But, I never noticed the eggs from the older female plumping back up like these do????

Hmm that's weird I've never seen eggs plump back so quickly. At the same time The eggs Look good, have good veins, and you see movement. I don't think you'll have any issues.

How often do you exchange the air in the container? I've seen eggs that dont get fresh air atleast once a week deflat and reinflate after given fresh air

Not all egg are perfect and pearly white some are pretty ugly, spots on eggs are not unusual either and they are fine as long as they are not wet spot (which by the picture they are not)

As far as dimpling same thing toward the end of incubation is normal towards the beginning it a sign that your humidity is to low and could be an issue.

I say your clutch is looking good. :gj:

I WAS opening the container about twice a week, then as it got closer, once daily. But, for the past couple of days (since I noticed that they are plumping back up once I open the container) I have been opening it at least twice a day.

    Thank You, Deborah,

I am not allowing myself to stress over them since the veins & movement are good. But, I do think I may be fretting just a little...LOL
