    Dubia questions
So I ordered 100 small dubia off eBay about a month ago, they were super tiny and I figure there has to be males and females in there somewhere so now they are ranging from tiny still to about a inch or so and I bought a ten pack of adults from lllreptiles, they got here today and I'm trying to figure out if I have any males or not... I know they have wings but none of these do and im wondering if they need to grow more still or if I'm trying to breed a bunch of females... =/ Lol! http://tapatalk.com/mu/48dcca76-2dfa-1d96.jpghttp://tapatalk.com/mu/48dcca76-2e1e-5f49.jpg

Here's pics I think tge first one is male but where's tge wings??

The first picture is of an adult female with her wing stubs. Second picture is a nymph still and you will have to wait another molt or two to see if you have a male or female. Don't worry, you will have males in the group!

I think both pics are nymphs...I have a small colony going right now and when I get home tonight from work I will take pics of my male and females and post them on here for ya! I started with 40 dubias about 3 weeks ago and now I have a couple hundred of them!

Also the first pic does look like a female but a very young one!

Plus males are not too keen on being picked up and held once they are slightly older. Just about to get wings and above. You usually know if you're holding a male because they act crazier and pinch the hell out of you by grabbing with their barbed legs if you try to hold and restrain them.

Females are more laid back for some reason.

Cool thanks! I was starting to think everyone was sorting out the males so I had to keep buying them lol!

Usually it's the other way around! Being female-heavy is a good thing :D

When I was breeding dubias, I'd specifically select males for feeding over females.

Both pictures in the OP are nymphs, and you can't tell the gender at all until their final molt.
