How do you Regulate your Tubs?

I am in the midst of home-making my first snake rack. Just a simple 10 bin rack. I have most of it figured out thanks to the forums and other research. Just one question, I currently am using a tank and I have 3 thermometers and 1 hygrometer to measure 1).hot side temp on glass 2)cool side temp on glass 3)ambient temp and then 4)overall humidity.

In Tubs, do I need to be so excessive? I've seen some people only using 1 thermo/hygrometer and a thermostat? Is that enough?

If you could just let me know how you monitor your tub temps and humidity I would really appreciate the help.

I'll be using a Herpstat II with Flexwatt tape, atm I will be using back heat(in case that makes a difference) Thanks!!

I use rack systems with 1 rheostat (no thermometer) aided with the help of a heat gun to be sure of optimal temp, heated with heat tape. For humidity, I just found out myself to have the right number of ventilation holes per tub to get the best airflow/humidity ratio.

I have a 5 tub rack, using a herpstat with flexwatt belly heat. I had a thermometer in each tank until the snakes started knocking them down all the time. Now i only have 1 tub with a thermometer and never have any problems. As long as all the tubs are set up the same, i dont think u have to worry. I like belly heat the best, then they have something to lay on that is direct heat, but back heat works.

My racks have their own thermostat for the flexwatt for belly heat and the tubs have an acurite in their which is held to the front of the tub with velcro. It holds good and if a snake gets under the paper and into the wire for the probe they can pull the velcro apart pretty easily. This way I can check the hot spot, ambient temp on the cool side and humidity. I prefer it this way cuz I can tell the temps and humidity of every tub just by looking at the front of every tub. I don't have to mess around with temp guns or disturb the snakes

This is how i monitor my tubs. Humidity is never an issue unless you go insnae and put a lot of holes.

I use one thermometer on the rack to read the heat tape, and a temp gun to read temps inside.

How do I regulate? Using a thermostat - Herpstat ND for my breeder BP, and Herpstat for the hatchlings.

How do I measure? With the number of tubs having a thermometer and Hygrometer in each of them would be hard to do and really not necessary.

I have an hygrometer in the room and as far as temps I use a temp gun and do some random reading 2 to 3 times a week.

I would like to use belly heat, but as this is my first time using Flexwatt, I think it will be safer for myself and my snakes :) Hopefully I can upgrade soon to belly heat. I'm going to do a lot more research, or save up and buy a nice pre-set up one :)
