    Laying Inverted??
I caught my female laying inverted, FULLY upside down but when i opened she flattened out a little. Here is the picture of her partially before she laid onto her stomach. The last owner said she had locked with some males but I was wondering if there were other reasons why she is laying inverted??? She is about 2500 grams but the only reason why I thought she was fat was because she had TWO LARGE RATS last Wednesday (8/10/11). Could she be laying inverted because of food or is she gravid? If she is gravid what is the timeline that will happen now?

You will probably get alot of diff answers on this, here are mine
    1. Gravid females go off feed, while this is true, it is not written in stone, some gravid females never miss a meal.

    2. While laying inverted is one of the signs of being gravid, it is not in itself conclusive.

    3. Is she showing a ridge along here spine (tenting)?

She is looking quite plump on the back half, do you have her husbandry records from the previous owner?

I sadly don't have her records :( but he said this one was "bulging" i would have thought if it were the rats, they would have been digested already so it may be? Her tub was not hot at all, it was actually very cold on accident i forgot to change my thermostat to the day setting so it was 82 in the whole tub and she was still laying inverted! Does that help?

Can you post some pics of her laying completely on her tummy?

I personally don't think she is gravid but I also honestly don't know. Hopefully these pics help i know they aren't the best quality but she isn't tenting.

She certainly doesn't look gravid at this point. You could always try running your fingers over her belly to feel for follicles, too.

I will, but i know she does have alot of digestive tracks in her which makes me confused about either eggs or just feces sadly
