    question on "QT" location
I am preparing for my new snake to come home soon. I plan to qt her for at least three months but it seems that the only location I have to do this would be my heated/finished basement.

My question is - is it okay for the snake to be kept in a rack in the same vicinity/room as I keep my feeder mice/rats?

Would this cause any stress on the snake.

    Thanks for your help.

Before having two dedicated rooms (1 for rats and one for snakes), I kept feeders and snakes in the same room for years without any issues.

When I buy live feeders for my picky mojave, I keep them in the same room as my snakes till I feed her. If anything, it's beneficial. Even my f/t eaters seem to be primed and ready to go when I get their ratsicles out, probably from smelling the heady aroma of live stinking rat wafting into their tubs.

We have pet rats that we used to keep in the same room as the snakes and it only made them better eaters. I would be more concerned about something passing on to the rats from the new snake which could be passed to ur collection. I'm not sure if that's possible but I would look into it

    Re: question on "QT" location
Is there really any possible threat of the snake exposing the rats to something and then passing it on to my collection thru feeding??

Wow, never even thought of that.
