First Successful Feed!!!

So i've had my male pastel for two weeks now and he has refused f/t multiple times but today i brought him a live mouse (that i was afraid might have been a bit big) but he took it down without a problem. I'm so relieved, he was starting to look pretty skinny. I also moved into college last week so i was worried that the stress was preventing him from eating. I guess he just wants live food :)

Congrats, yes the move may have stressed him out, get some weight on him, then you can maybe try f/t again

I think im fine with feeding live, im going to be getting at least one more BP soon so live is just easier.

Grats, I know that was a big relief when mine ate. Feeding live is no biggie, just use tongs and hold the little bugger in front of him and release once he hits....no need to watch some mouse run around makin sure your boys ok. I'm going through my first shed now.....nerve wracking all over again.

Congrats! Moves can be stressful! I would feed him live until you get some weight on him, then you can try f/t again.

Yea, i feel SO much better. and i realized i need to get tongs because the mouse was kicking a little. I was very happy that he had a clean strike and didn't decide to strike from behind though because then i would have had to worry about biting as well.

Yea Congrats. That's a pretty awesome feeling. I tried to feed my new guy Memphis last night and he was just affraid of it, so I left it in the enclosure with him for a while. I came back to check about an hour later and he was still on one side with rat on the other. So I took the rat back out, reheated it, and after one defensive strike he wrapped it up and finished it off. I was a little worried because the guy I got him from was feeding live but the smell in the tub must have reminded him he was hungry.

Feels good doesn't it. I'm at work today with a smile knowing I have three full belly BPs.

Congrats on your first feed too! and mine didn't take too well to f/t so i guess its gonna be live from here on out. at least till he puts a good bit of weight on anyway.
