Health Concern Please Help!!!!!!!
One of my ball pythons has a health issue. He was doing fine then the other day regurgitated a rat pup. Ever since his mouth has been open and swollen looking. He cant close his mouth. He is also breathing heavy. But, I am positive it is not an respiratory infection because he is not bubbling or discharging goo. However he does have red bloody parts in his mouth and white discharge. And like I said it looks like he is puffy and swollen. Anything I can do to avoid a vet bill? Is it mouth rot? If so how do I treat it? How could it get mouth rot from regurgitation? Any help would be awesome!
Re: Health Concern Please Help!!!!!!!
it might of had month rot and that's what cause the regurg. google ball python month rot and if it is, then you will most likely need meds.
Re: Health Concern Please Help!!!!!!!
Just realized he has red around his cloaca and it looks infected also. what is this? As I am thinking is it possible he ingested a piece of coconut husk and it is causing the problem? Let me know.
Re: Health Concern Please Help!!!!!!!
Why WOULDN'T you take him to the vet? You assumed responsibility and care for him when you brought him into your home.
If it was a puppy or a kitten that was suffering, wouldn't you take them to a vet?
And there's no way that you can be positive that he doesn't have a respiratory infection without doing a mouth swab first.
None of us (that I know of) are trained as veterinarians, and it would be irresponsible of us to try to diagnose and give treatment advice, much less for an animal that none of us can even put our hands on.
Get him to a vet ASAP. Poor thing has to be in a lot of pain. :(

You really need to get that snake to a vet as has already been stated multiple times.
