    First feed successful
i was a little worried about feeding because he ate live mice/rat pinks, i was told by breeder and i wanted to try f/t because i planned on converting anyways. all went well and he hit the f/t rat pink like it would be his last meal :D:D

now i have a question heh, after buying and getting home i realized i bought too many rat pinks and i believe he will out grow them pretty soon and was wondering when is a good size to feed 2 at a time so i dont have to waste.

I started feeding two when after I fed one he didn't go in his hide right away and seemed to be hunting for more. Wait until he swallows the first one and resets his jaw before feeding again. Instead of two at a time you could just feed more often like every five days. The only problem is that doesn't give you many days to handle him depending on how often you like to handle him.

What size ball is yours? Is that him now in your avatar?

Looks very small (<100 grams). You could try 2 and if he takes it he would be fine, mine have never over ate. One of my 300 gram bp's just ate 3 rat pups because the other only wanted 1. If you don't already you could feed 1 every 5 days.

I don't have any helpful information for you, but I bought a BP who eats live pinky mice and I'm going to try to feed her a F/T rat pink Saturday unless she goes into shed.
I hope that she'll eat it!

don't know the exact size of your ball python. when your snake takes the first one. wait until it's all the way down. if you don't see a lump in the stomach from the rodent, then offer the next one. if the lump is a noticeable size, I would just stick with one for now. just use common sense, you don't want a regurg from too much food at once. hope this helps, don

yea thats him in my avatar, i dont have a scale yet but id guess somewhere around 100ish grams or so maybe a little more.. i wasnt sure if they would over eat or not, i just would rather make sure and get advice to ensure he stays healthy, but today i was really happy to see him take it no problem because ive heard they will refuse and be picky
