    I mean, sure, I've seriously weighed the benefits of using Mr. Nibbles as home defense, especially whenever I read about the latest spate of home invasions... unfortunately, it turns out the bad guys have already had similar ideas about robbing people at snakepoint:

    I have a stable of inland taipans that I milk for their venom.

    I then apply it to darts for my blowgun. I use it for hunting sasquatches up in the boundary waters.

    I could see this being true. The general population has such a fear of snakes that they don't know which ones are actually dangerous and which ones are harmless.

    Right, that's why I was thinking it could be true. And some large number of people don't even care if it the snake is harmless, they have a phobia, and they'll do practically anything to make it go away.
