T escape

My Oklahoman brown tarantula escaped. the room is sealed and im wondering what the escape patterns of T's and where or how to find a 1 1/2 in. T or if theres no hope.

Sorry to hear that :( Are you 100% sure it escaped and isn't just under the substrate? How did it escape? I thankfully have never had a T escape so I can't offer much help besides obvious things that youare probably already doing. Hopefully you find it and at least it is a new world and not an old world escapee.

Seal the room so it can't escape. I had a T. gigas sling escape and go into the walls, found her 3-4 days later. Unfortunately, seeing as she is arboreal, where I found her is sorta irrelevant (on the ceiling).

I would keep a close eye on every corner in the room, most small animals travel along the walls rather than the middle of the floor. You might even want to set boxes or totes in all four corners of the room and check behind them often.

And do what Jeff said, unless you saw it escape, there is a chance it's hidden in the enclosure.

Where would it be in the enclosure? i dont know how it could escape it was more or less escape proof but i checked the substrate and all the hides.

Smaller T's like to burrow. If you checked the substarte REALLY good and all the possible places it could be in the enclosure then I don't know what could have happened if it was escape proof :( Did anyone happen to open the container that you are not aware of? Maybe they left the lid off and it escaped and they put it back on later? Maybe it bolted when someone else was looking at it and they didn't see it? I don't know :confused: Just throwing out thoughts your way. Hope you find it though!!!

Ouch. Good luck with finding it. If it did escape and you have floor vents, then it could get have gone into one, unless you have the air on. Don't see a T going into a place that is pushing cold air.
