    Scales pushed up?????
I pulled my boy out tonight and when I was holding him I noticed that his scales on one side only look pushed up?? Kinda like he rubbed backward against something and pushed them up. Anyone know what this is? He just shed 3 days ago. Thanks for any help.

It could indicate a host of things. A lot of the time it can be dehydration, so check that the cage is at at least 50% humidity. It could indicate the presence of mite eggs, so maybe keep an eye out for them. Or it could simply mean that when the snake is hiding, he is usually coiled more towards that side and it's no big deal.

If your husbandry is correct and you don't notice mites in the next month or so, then there's nothing to worry about. He may just be having a "bad scale day" :P

    Hi,

Could it be from them coiling up?

I've seen it on mine a couple of times and it always seems to be in a straight line from back to belly.

Pictures would help if you can get any. :gj:

I've noticed this on my large spider female. It always seems to be on one particular side and continues to be present after several sheds. I originally thought maybe she was rubbing the entrance of her hide so I chose to remove it. Afterwards it still remained present so I assume it's from her coiling up. I'm mite free as well.
