    Substrate While Breeding
    Hi all,

I'd had a few people tell me that they keep all their breeders on paper. They say that substrate like aspen can get where the hemipenes are and causes an absess.

Has anyone had that happen here? I've talked to some others that say they've always used aspen and never had a problem.

So I just wanted to get a collective opinion from you guys.

    Thanks.

Everyone is on cypress mulch except females that are being paired, they are on newspaper.

This is to prevent any issue when the male retract his hemipenes, if mulch was getting in where it's not supposed to it could create some issues.

All the adults are on paper, except the girls when they are about to lay, I put them on aspen.
