    New to Forum...New to Pythons!!
    Hello Python Peeps...

    I am new to this FORUM and also new to PYTHONS!! The pic on my avatar is a Ball Python I might pick up!! But want to familiarize myself with alot of info first!! So you'll see me probably post alot of stuff!! LOL!!

    Hopefully I find some good online friends here that will help me become a pro at raising my Ball Python when I get him!!

    :welcome: Welcome to the forum, but the snake in your avatar is a reticulated python not a ball python. They get MUCH bigger, like 15-20ft bigger...

    I would search around and try to find a real ball python if that is what you are looking for.

    Yes I knew that, I didnt mean to put Ball! I like Ball Pythons and Reticulated!! But what do you prefer and why?:cool:

    Okay, I'm glad you know that's a retic and not a ball. I was a little worried. :P

    I prefer ball pythons and boas. They are much more manageable than the larger snakes and I don't need to have someone there when I handle them. :)

    Yes that makes very good sense!! I didnt think of it like that!! But I do have a wife and 4 kids that could help me if I do get a Retic....LOL! :cool:

    Ball pythons are a lot more calmer and easier to deal with. Retics can be high strung, have strong feeding responses and can't be kept in a glass tank forever, making them the not so ideal first snake. Not too mention, once your retic reaches 8 - 9 feet, you shouldn't handle them on your own.

    That is a gorgeous retic in your avatar though. Welcome to the forums :D
