Hurricane plans?
I can't see how I over looked this living in Florida... But what should I do with Loki should I have to evacuate for a hurricane?
We take the dog with us, it's a given. My mom said today we'd take Loki too, since he can be kept in a storage box.
But heat wise, what could I use to keep him warm? I was thinking about just using warm water in small bottles, possibly getting heat packs for if we evacuate because my family won't keep a hotel room warm enough for him...
So, what would be a good plan? I have researched on the web for hurricane plans, and can't find anything. Other than "He'll be ok without power" I know that much... And that's fine for here, because it does get hot and humid after a tropical storm/ hurricane... But in a hotel room thats VERY cold, he won't be ok.

if your going to a hotel that has power itll be very easy to care for him,
just take a tub attach heat tap and plug into a thermostat to him itll just be home.

Or, if you don't have a portable heat source(say it's attached to something too ungainly to carry with you...
You can either get the heat packs for shipping and keep those for emergencies, or you can use a water water bottle, or even a water bottle you refil with hot water and slip into a sock. I've kept a couple snakes comfy with water bottles in socks.
Ball pythons tend to do fairly well even if the temps drop for a bit. If the room is really cold due to the AC, a nice hot water bottle in a insulated box(like you would ship him in?) would probably fix him up fine temporaily.

For hurricane season, I have heat packs in case we have to evac to a hotel. But being the eternal optimist that I am, we won't be getting any huge hurricanes again, since I've moved back to Fl :D
