Hi all, I've been asking questions like humidity levels, and stuff about there environments.. Anyways I took some photos just now and a video of both snakes Tails, Heads and Full bodys...

I was actrully taking a video and once I switched to photo mode one of my snakes made a HUGE yawn, I read on forums this is normal it is right? I wish I could of captured it, It looked really nice and I never seen that happen..

I also took some photos of Tails could you let me know on your opinion if you think its a boy or girl for each photo of the tail? Thanks.

One question, When the snake dose this what dose it mean? Its normal right? He's not mad by doing this or telling me that hes about to strike because it did look like he wanted me to leave him

The pinkies belly, I read that this means they are in shedding stage.

Here are some pictures of there tails, I read also online that its not true you can tell there gender by the tail but then people tell me you can ... Any opinions?

By the looks of your pics I would say that the snake is in shed, it doesn't look like retained eye caps to me. What your snake is doing in the pic is called periscoping, this is normal and does not mean that the snake is going to strike at you. Just keep your humidity bumped up and the snake should have a nice complete shed for you. You can't really tell the gender of the snakes by the length of the tail. The only sure way to tell is to have the snakes probed or popped.

The reason she probably got bit is because they can't see as well when they are about to shed so defensively strike (or just because they thought her hand was a mouse/rat) :P

"Periscoping" is just them poking their heads up to see better. The pink belly is classic for being about to shed, so as long as the humidity is right, you should have a nicely shed snake in a few days. Remember that the eyes will clear up BEFORE he sheds. So when he suddenly doesn't look like he's about to shed, don't worry that there's no shed skin in the cage. He'll shed soon.

Once they shed, you can examine the shed skin from the head to see if the eyecaps are attached. It'll be like a cool little clear snake mask!

definitely looks like its in shed! for sex popping or probing will confirm it

Cool thanks for letting me know. Lots of stress has been released off my back because of these snakes. I'm glad they look good.

Snakes yawn to re-align their jaws, so that's completely normal.

Their eyes are blue because they are about to shed. It's generally best to leave them alone when they are like this. They are vulnerable because they can't see which means you will get bit some times.

As stated, you can't tell the gender of a ball python by looking at it's tail. Also with the snakes that you can tell the gender by looking at the tail you need to look at the belly portion to tell were the cloaca is and you go from there.

I've read your other threads, both of those snakes look bigger than hatchlings, are you sure it is a 10gal you have them in? 10gals are really really small.
