BP in water bowl for more than 2 hours,need explaination

like the title above,my bp already take a bath in the water bowl for more than 2 hours.she just eat a 1 large mice before,n there is no thick.i check once a week for thick.do u think the humid is low or she will shed soon?

Most ball pythons will soak before a shed. Soaking helps loosen their skin so that it comes off easily. Just keep an eye on her water temperature and level.

My BP spends lots of time in his swimming pool and fountain, It used to bother me, but not anymore, he loves it and there has never been a problem from it. He also does it a little more then normal 3 days before he starts his shed. After a meal he will also make a quick stop in the pool for a soak before heading off to his hide to digest.

Double check that your temperatures aren't too high, double check that your humidity and keep an eye out for mites. It could indicate that there is a problem with temps and humidity or it could indicate the presence of mites too.

For the mites, you may not see them right away. Keep a close lookout for them, I'd say for at least about a month, because the snake may be uncomfortable because of the eggs laid under the scales, and those eggs can take up to about a month to hatch. Once they've hatched, that's when you'll see the mites.

it already 15 hours,and she still dont come out from the water bowl.i start to worry,i am afraid she will get rotten scale.

Some of them just do that. I have a female that loves to slop around in her water bowl and there isn't anything wrong with her. None of the other snakes in the same rack do it much.

I'm just thankful that she isn't using it for a toilet bowl like some of them do.

Also, look at what kinds of hides you have for your snake to choose from. Sometimes the water bowl may seem like the most attractive hide because it is usually a tight fit. And even if the bowl itself is big, they will still feel the water all around them and may find that a more secure feeling than a hide that is too big or open.
