Cannot figure out how u do it..

So I think it's time to add to my collection and I need your advice, I'm pretty sure I'll be adding a blood to my collection but need caring advice.. I was going to post this in the caving section but it got ignored last tune so in hoping to have better luck this time. How do u guys secure your tubs? I won't be using a rack system so I feel most of those tubs lids are kinda flimsy so how do u secure a tub for a strong python

Well, how big of tub are you trying to secure? If you get the right tub, it's not too hard, and there are various cable locks & clips you can use if you're worried about escapees. Or you could just get a cage that's made specifically for snakes & have a lock installed. Problem solved! :)

itll be a 41qt for a baby blood, i cant seem to find a good way of locking the middle/corners so that im less worried about escapes, with a rack i can understand how it wouldent be a problem but the middle of these long tubs are just easily to open lol, maby i shooulda put this in the caging part to try and get some pics of the tops of peoples tubs

I just won't use a tub/lid for a snake. Lots of people do it, and successfully, but it's too worrisome for me. I had a ball python in a tub with a lid, and had it secured with multiple clamps. First off, it was a pain in the tail taking all those clamps off and on when getting into her tub. Second...twice, she managed to pop a clamp off a corner and wedge herself up and out of the tub. Just recently when I moved, I had to keep my milksnake in a tub with a lid for a few weeks until we were reunited with her regular cage. I had really heavy books weighing down all the corners and edges, and even so, I still had multiple heart attacks when looking in on her and not being able to find her. (She never did escape, but sometimes she made it look like she had!) I simply would not be able to rest with something as strong as a blood python in a tub w/ lid. And if I did manage to get it truly secure enough...it'd be a serious pain in the tail to get into each time.

First of all, 41 qt is extremely large for a baby blood. Depending on the size of the snake, you might want to think about a 15 qt enclosure. For this size, you can typically use the Sterilite containers with "clamping" lids, and those do seem to work pretty well. If necessary, you could always put this tub into a bigger, taller tote that the snake wouldn't be able to escape from should it ever find its way out of the primary tub.

I hear luggage straps work well with larger snakes.
