30 or 31, and the cooler side in tank is 27.

Well, if that is fahrenheit then that is a problem. However, he is a little stressed being in a new place and you should just give him a week of no touching or poking your face around his tank to let him cool out and get comfy.

:) the temps are celsius, i am giving him about 1 week to get comfy since yesterday, i never touch him and just watch him stealthy. maybe he just doesn't like to hide...

Maybe the hide's too big and he doesn't feel comfortable in it?
You could try a tighter fitting hide

After reading the caresheet, it could be that he just hasn't found them yet.
When you have him out of his cage try and direct him into it

He's probably exploring his new home and soon you will have a nice pet hide.

Your new Ball Python is stressed about moving and is still settling in his new enclosure. It is normal for them to be restless during this period.

All you need to do is make sure the husbandry is correct (proper husbandry can be found on the caresheet). Also make sure his hides (there should be one on the warm side and one on the cool side) are fully enclosed and secure feeling. They should only have a small opening for access.

Then leave him alone for 2 weeks to let him settle in.
