16 foot snake in Sedro Woolley!
A friend mentioned this to me and I had to look it up. This is my town! Poor snake. :( How sad, and I can just see what the city council will do after seeing this paper! :(

Okay...it's sad that such a majestic animal got hit like that. It's sad that's it's dead. What I don't see is anything else sad about that. It's not like this was HIS pet he's skinning. If anything, he's making the poor thing's death a little less pointless. I don't believe in snakes dying for the leather and fur industry, but this is just a guy, putting this to good use. I've got a taxidermy friend who makes use of roadkill all the time. What's so wrong about that? (Or am I just missing the point?)

    I was ok until this:

Mostly that the poor snake escaped or got released and ended up dieing. Also I am waiting to see what the city council will do after hearing about it, hopefully not add any new laws.

@MasonC2K yes that part ticked me off also.

I agree with Anya, I don't see anything sad about it after the fact.

The fact that it was run over just below the neck makes me think that it was hit on purpose to kill it. So that coupled with the fact that is was probably a released pet from an irresponsible owner giving the hobby a bad name makes it a sad story to me. Luckily the article was pretty lighthearted and didn't sensationalize anything, though I didn't like that last quote there. Hopefully when its owner reads about what happened to their snake they'll learn a lesson :(

Although that could be the case... why would you think that?
