Orange Belly, Graphite, and Ultra Ivory?
Does anybody have any info on the orange belly gene and has anything new been discovered about it? I talked to Ben Siegel about it over the phone but at that point I was told that the only way to be guaranteed a graphite was to buy a graphite. So does the orange belly x yellow belly make graphites or ultra ivories or does it have to be an orange belly x orange belly pairing or do the orange bellies have a hidden gene similar to the lesser and platty daddy situation and only some of the orange bellies carry it? Thanks

So a while ago on here I was told that an orange belly to a yellow belly would make graphites or ultra ivories or something to that effect. So has this gene proved out to be predictable or just take your chance and hope you get one with the gene?

This what I got from them.
I bought a ultra ivory from ACR reptiles who purchased it from Ben in 2008 or 09. It is developing some graphite scales. There may yet be something cool hidden in this line. Just need to breed to that right dinner in the rough.

I consider orangebellys like poss het for graphite. They are generally prettier than regular ybs especially as they mature. Some will produce graphites some will not. Best to grow your ivories up As well a bit as sometimes the graphite pattern takes awhile to show.
