    What is this?
Our female het pied shed last night and now we can see that her body is lumpy. Is this ovulation, or just building? How long should she be building before she ovulates?

this will be our first clutch ever if everything goes well. het pied x het pied. So exciting :D

They don't shed and then ovulate the next day but she's obviously got something going on ;)

Better pics taken from above would help :gj:

Does the amount of time between pre-ov shed and ovulation vary a lot or is there a pretty solid figure out there? If so I can't figure it out  Is it a couple of weeks, a month or more? Now that I'm finally witnessing a visible change I'm getting all excited over it. We've waited a looong time, we doubted she was going to go at all.

Honestly I dont put any faith in a preovy shed. Ive had snakes that shed a few weeks before ovulation, others were a few months. The only shed that seems reliable to me is the prelay shed.

I agree, if she is ovulating now, you will get another shed in 25-30 days then eggs 25-30 days after that shed.

Its the hormone that is released during ovulation that causes them to go into shed.

:taz: holy! I hope you're right. I'll get to preparing the incubator just in case. Fingers crossed for pied babies in my first clutch. :please:

    Heh,

I'd say those look like either eggs or you are due one heck of a poop.

Geting the incubator dialed in sounds like a good plan. :gj:

    And congratulations. :D
