Little question

How come my boy is hanging out on top of his log hide on the cool side when inside the cool hide is 81 and hot is 90 and ambient is 78 to 80? please help thank you

your worried about nothing, he will do whatever he wants, snakes do werid stuff.

Half log hide? When my female Normal was still under the care of her previous owner they had a half log hide for her. She would lay on top of it at all times. Once they gave her to me I bought her the proper smaller enclosed hides and now she only comes out for food and water. Either your snake just feels comfortable out in the open, or you may want to try different types of hides.
