Ball pythons in the shower ??!!
Yes, you read that right.
Last night I noticed my super-light dinker normal female had finished her usual rough shed. No matter how high her humidity is she always sheds ugly.
So I was going to give her a quick soak, but the sink was full of dishes. So I thought, why not stick her in the shower ?
I put her around me neck, adjusted the spray for gentleness and temp, then laid her in the bottom of the shower.
She went around the edges of the shower a couple of times, then loosely curled around the drain and just calmly laid there and let me spray her. I went gently up and down her body, she even let me spray the very back of her head. She sat still for me for 6 or 7 minutes while I sprayed her with the shower head.
She then moved over to the side, stretched her head along the wall for about 6 inches, and just stayed there while the water flowed over her. She did not panic, try to get away, huff or otherwise indicate she was stressed or unhappy. At least not until I turned off the water and picked her up to dry her.
Call me crazy, but I think she liked it. I was very careful not to drench her head and cause possible problems with water in her nose or lungs, but I'm telling you she enjoyed her shower. Afterward she patiently let me work the stuck shed off. We've had a lot of practice at it.
Gale.
