RBI Rack Systems - Tub Size Confusion?
Looking into getting an RBI rack system for some of my snakes. I'm sure many people on the forum have purchased RBI rack systems so I'd like to get a little more info about the tub sizes.

I have a few Ball pythons that are housed in a 28, 34, & 40 quart tub (with hides). I was looking at the Iris MCB-S Rack Wide Version under Rack System For Mid-Sized Snakes and it said the tubs are only 12.2 quarts. I'm not gonna use hides in my rack system except for the smaller snakes, but wouldn't a 12.2qt rack be more for smaller Ball pythons around 200-400g? I know for a fact my three Balls (all
weigh between 500g-750g) couldn't fit in a 12.2qt tub even without a hide. So if those tubs are too small, what rack would you recommend that could fit the three in perfectly without a hide? http://www.reptilebasics.com/iris-mc...k-wide-version

Pretty much same question about the Irish Shoe Box Rack (12) under Rack Systems For Baby/Juvenile Snakes. It says the tubs are only 5.4 quarts. So I assume that rack is basically only for actual baby/hatchling snakes 200g and under? http://www.reptilebasics.com/iris-sh...r-16-tub-sizes

Sorry if my questions sound confusing, I tried to word it in the best way possible so I don't end up accidentally purchasing something of the wrong size. Any responses are much appreciated :). Thanks!

Hi, I have RBI racks. The sweaterbox rack sounds like the size you would need for snakes in the 700 gram range. The next step up would be the CB70 for the adult bp's.

Go to RBI website and look at the four drawer sweaterbox rack - I'm sure that would fit your needs just fine.

Thanks so much, that would definitely work! For my smaller Ball pythons 200g and under, would the Iris MCB-S Rack Wide Version work best?

And also another thing, I'm gonna get their Ranco and it said it can control up to 1500w. Could the Ranco successfully control both racks? I tried finding the wattage of both racks but couldn't find anything that mentioned so.

The 32qt sweater box rack , Rich sells dividers that can split the tub into 16qt per side. The last time I spoke to him a couple weeks ago he was around a month out lead time. Yes the ranco would be fine. Shoot me a text

Man I might as well get two of those then, completely forgot about those dividers! I suppose I am in no hurry to get the rack, at least before the Tucson Show starts. And will do!

Watch my collection video where I showed the dividers. I used the dividers until they were 800g. I gave them hides at first and removed it at around 500g or gave one hide to the shy ones.

Yes, I have the dividers for my sweaterbox tub but haven't needed them yet - picked them up at a show for cheap - figured it would be a good investment to have them around.

    :)

Like everyone else said the sweater box would be your best bet. I would strongly suggest the belly heat option is worth the extra $20. Im using the VE-300 to control my sweater box and my CB-70 6slot rack and its worked flawless I would def. recommend this thermostat. Heres a pic of my sweaterbox with dividers to give you an idea..I only have hatchlings in it for now but they seem to love it. They feed everytime offered and have perfect sheds for me so far.
