    breathing hard?
so when my ball pythons sees me he starts to breath hard. and i stood there for about 10 - 15 more mins just to watch him and he looks as if he continues to breath hard. theres no wheezing sound but im just worried cuz he is still a baby.

My husbandry is correct. i have a hydrofarm thermostat that keeps everything under control. and he eats very well. i have had no problems with him and food. he took a large pinky rat on monday.

but is this hard breathing a need for concern?

    any advice would be appreciated.

You are stressing him out. How long have you had him? Have you let him settle in for at least a week? If so start handling him so he gets used to you.

yea i figured thats what the reason was. cuz i would walk into the room he is in and he would be reaching upp as high as could like some ball pythons i saw at repticon. but when i put my face close to the enclosure to check him out. he would coil into a half ball and start breathing hard.

i realized it was probably stress when i went in right after i posted this and sat there for a while watching him. after another 10 mins or so. he stopped breathing heavily and began doing his usual things.

i have had him since june 26. and he is an awesome eater. so im not worried anymore. and thank you!
