Everyone has their own thought on it and strategy.

Recently I left for 4 days. I fed the guys the night before I left--don't have to worry about a regurge because my little crew doesn't play that game. The day before I put two water bowls in each cage, tripled up on the normal layers of paper towels, and when I got home I cleaned up a couple of turds and some snake pee. It takes my crew about 4-5 days to process a rat, so it worked out great.

I set the AC at 82 before I left and checked the rack temps to make sure they were correct. Everyone was fine when I returned and all eager and front and center for a meal.

If I were to be gone for an extended period of time I've lined up some friendly herpers who will check in on my babies as I've made it know that I will be happy to do the same for them.

With leopard geckos do you just put a weeks worth of food in with them? Was confused with him cuz he eats every other day right now real good an that seems like lots of food to jus leave with him to eat as he pleases. My bp should be good up to a week with out any worries since she eats once a week.

With my little worm eater, the short tailed opossum, I fill a pint sized mason jar halfway up with bran then dump in 1/2 of a potato and a generous bunch of superworms. He can get into the jar by climbing over from his possum house and he pretty much digs out what he wants. The bran raises the floor level up enough that he can climb out on his own.

You might be able to adapt that method to your geckos.
