When The People You Live With Set The A/C TOO LOW!!

I am really getting tired of my older sister setting the A/C to 74F-75F... I sent her a text asking her to please stop setting the A/C below 78F or my reptiles will get sick and vet bills are expensive. I honestly don't think I'm gonna get through to her.. Some people just really don't understand that they need to keep in mind that there are other animals in their house that need certain requirements:colbert:.

Does anyone else live with anybody, whether it be family or friends, that set the A/C too damn low??

It is honestly an EXTREME pet peeve of mine.

Darn, I would bring that up with mom as she pays the bills.

Hey just a thought. Can you close the vent in the reptile room and keep the door closed?

Oh Mom knows LOL. She wants her to stop doing it too.

Although that sounds like a fantastic idea, I unfortunately live in a place where it very hot in the house if no A/C is running through. My reptile room, being the hottest room in the house, would be extremely warm due to the mid Summer temps.

yuo can restrict the air flow some that will allow th room to be warmer than rest of the house.

What is this A/C you speak of? ;) Gotta love WA... We have had 78 minutes of weather above 80 this year :)

I had the same problem before I moved to Vegas. I used a space heater that had a built in thermostat (was actually fairly cheap). I simply set the space heater to 80 degrees, it would turn on if the room dropped under 80 and also had a built in fan that would kick in if the room ever rose above 80. :) It definitely saved my reptiles' lives. I'm not home right now so I can't give you the actual model and name of the heater, but if that'd be something you're interested in I could let you know what kind it is once I'm back home.

My sigoth keeps the air at 75 constantly, I close all the vents to the snake room, I leave one slot partially open, the room stays 80-81*.

When I was a kid, if we dared touch the a/c thermostat......well let's just say after my brother did it once, the rest of us never dared to lol.
