    Assist fed Baby Spider Ball
Loch hatched out on 6/3 at 65g. After several weeks of her and her sister not eating, I posted about when I should begin to worry. I was told not to worry and that she had plenty of time before I should start to worry. Well she was beginning to look a little on the skinny side. Her sister had taken a small mouse (I asked for hoppers and I got small mice instead. Both boys and her took them down without a single problem and Ness finally started eating, so I couldn't be happier)

Well I took her out and weighed her and the scale read 47g. I couldn't believe my eyes. I didn't think she'd lose that much weight but she has. I re-checked her weight 3 times just to make sure. I went ahead and thawed out a mouse pinky (it was a large pinky) and assist fed her. Once it was in her mouth she kind of sat there for a second as if she didn't know what to do next. Then slowly, ever so slowly, she began to move it back into her throat. I was thrilled when she swallowed it. Hopefully she'll get the hang of eating and she can start putting on weight like her siblings.

I know assist feeding is just as stressful for the owner as it is for the snake. I had a little hatchling Piebald I had to assist feed for awhile. I always dreaded doing it but as you said once you get it to the middle of their mouth they usually start swallowing it on their own.

    Good luck with her:gj:

    she'll catch on :),

I have a little fella who hatched out on 6/20, poor lil fella could not get with the program to trike & constrict, he would try to eat the pinkies then give up, cause it would start moving around. Last night he finally constricted his first pinkie :).
