What kind of Tub?

Hi, I was just wondering what sort of tub would be appropriate for keeping my BP in while I cleaned his home.
Are they allergic to any sort of plastics?
Which kind of lid is preferred?
Do I need to poke holes, and if so how do i make holes that are smooth and won't scratch?
Could I use paper on the base or should I use the same substrate he's used to?

Also, what is the most recommended and safe way to clean glass teraniums? I've heard clorox wipes and a rinse&dry is good.

Any advice would be helpful. Thank you.

A pillow case or snake bag would be fine for when you clean his cage, just make sure it is tied securely.

As for cleaning, I use a bleach/water. I used 9-10 parts water to 1 part bleach. If you go this route make sure you rinse it well. There are other things you can use, but this works best for me because I'm usually cleaning 10+ tubs at a time.

you can put him in a bag, but you can also put him in a tub with holes and papertowel on the bottom. Just a normal sterilite or rubbermaid tub is fine.

First off, please don't use Clorox wipes to clean his tank. I'm fairly positive those chemicals are dangerous for the animal. Simply use a diluted solution of 10 parts water to 1 part bleach. Then rinse extremely well with very hot water.

If you only need to keep him somewhere for the amount of time it takes you to clean his tank then simply put him in a pillowcase. Be sure you turn the pillowcase inside out so there's no risk of the snake becoming entangle in any loose threads along the seam. I have heard of this happening. Carefully tie off the pillowcase (just be sure not to get the snakes head! My Milks frantically try to escape as I'm trying to tie their snake bags off. Wouldn't want to hurt them).

i dont use any substrate in there temp house (the tube there in wile i clean there cage) there not staying in there for long so i doubt they notice so you could use anything or nothing your choice.

You can either use a pillowcase, or a 41 quart sterlite tub. It probably doesn't even need to be that big if it's just for cleaning time. A 32 quart would be fine too. If yours is anything like mine he'll probably just sit there :P
I usually just put mine on my couch when I clean and he'll go under a pillow and look out. He also sits around my neck.

You can use vinegar and water to clean the glass.. it doesn't disinfect though.

I urge against putting your snake on your couch while cleaning or anywhere that you are unable to keep your eyes on it at all times if it isn't contained. Next thing you know we'll be reading a thread about how you took your eyes off of it for one minute and now it's gone.

Use a soldering iron to melt holes in the tubs. It works great, and is very fast. Just don't forget to unplug it after you finish. They get extremely hot. If you don't have a soldering iron you could probably use a hot glue gun without the glue.

I use my soldering iron all the time. I use it to make hides out of old butter tubs etc.

I like the Sterilite tubs with locking lids. Pillowcases are good too but you might as well get a Sterilite tub, because you can use it to soak them also. Which I recommend if you have him in a tank. When mine was in a tank it was really difficult to get the humidity high enough so soaking him really helped.

Thank you! I will try the glue gun(no glue) thing. My humidity is great right now, but in the winter it probably won't be. A tub is preferred. again thanks
