Stuck on what to do for this upcoming breeding season
Ok so heres what i can breed this year so every one knows.

    Females:
    Spider
    Pastel
    2 Normals

    Males:
    Butter
    Pin
    Ghost

Ok so now heres the thing, I have hit what i wanted already this year for the spider and pastel females. I got a bee and pewter, and my second year i was set on going for butterbees and lemon blast. But i have this ghost male who is ready to breed and i would like to get ghost into all of my projects, i have a het female that is about 700 grams and should be ready to breed next year. I know every one says breed what you like, but i would like opinions of what i should do about the ghost? Should i breed him to the spider or pastel and hope i get a male or female pastel or spider het for ghost so i get a jump on raising them up to be breeders or do you think i should hold it out and wait for next year and breed him maybe to one of those females?:confused:

I would breed the ghost to the spider (and only the ghost, so you know any babies out of her will be 50% het for ghost), and the butter and pin to the pastel. The normals I'd also breed to the butter and pin.

If you breed the ghost to the spider, all the babies will be 100% het for ghost. Not 50%. Jay_Bunny is right though, to suggest that if you go that route, be sure ONLY the ghost gets a chance at its mate. Otherwise, you can't be 100% sure which snake fathered the babies, and then won't be sure if they're hets or not.

Yea I get what you 2 are saying. If I did go that route I would have to only breed the ghost. I understand the genetics of all my possibilities. I just was wondering what everyone thought.

Yea that's a good idea. I mean either way I won't be upset with any of the breedings I do, just need to get that ghost in there.
