    Substrate question
I know that this topic is revisited at least once a week if not once a day, and I will apologize to all of the forum veterans for bringing it back up.

My question is, does anyone use CareFresh ultra as a substrate? I just returned from the Myrtle Beach reptile expo and noticed several vendors using it. Several of the shops were also selling it, along with every other substrate known to man.

Just getting back into keeping BPs, I am looking for the best substrate option for all of my snakes. Right now all six of them are in separate plastic cages (boaphile & pmherp), though I am seriously considering transitioning to a rack system.

Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am currently using sanichips and trex desert snow in separate cages (again trial and error to find a good fit). Thank you in advance!!

I used to use it when I kept rodents, but I noticed a lot of vendors using it in their displays at the Toronto expo. I think they're just using it because it looks cool, but if you ask me I wouldn't use it as a long-term substrate for a ball python because it was a huge pain to clean out waste on when I had it for my rodents, and for a snake it'd be very easy to swallow accidentally during feeding, so I can only imagine that if they swallow it, it would expand in them, and be tougher to pass than say a wood/cocnut substrate.
