    Hatchling with umbilical cord
    Hello friends,

it´s my first time posting her. Normaly im only a reader in this very interested forum.

But now I need your help.

At first I have to say that I´m from Germany and my English is not as well as I like so I hope you can read and understand what I write.

Normaly I get my very first clutch from my Classic female. I got the eggs on 28th of May and incubated them on 32 degree.

Now the first hatchling is some days to early and he has still his umbilical cord. see pics. :(

    Now my sorrow.

    What should I do?
Has he a chance to survive? :tears:

I hope you can help me.

    Greetings form Germany

gently try to place him back in egg, or put him along with egg into a small container with moist paper towels. You don't want him moving about until he has absorbed the yolk.

    ^What she said. :gj:

If you can't get him/her placed back into the egg, carefully move baby to a deli cup lined with wet paper towel so that its movements can be restricted while it's still absorbing yolk from the sac. Make sure that the paper towel remains moist so that the cord and sac don't dry out.

Yes, very damp, moist paper towels with the yolk in a very small container with holes. Place this inside the babies tub to stay warm.

I'm worried about how thick that looks.. I hope it is just the cord and the baby didn't pull a bit of it's insides out. That requires a bit more work if it doesn't retract.
