Decisions!! DECISIONS!
My local pet store is AMAZING. I mean, really amazing. They have a huge snake breeding facility completely apart from the store, and go to expo's and sell around the country, yada yada. They have over 600 eggs incubating right now!! O.O
...Anyway. Since so many hatchlings are coming out, they're blowing out last year's stock. I have an opportunity to get some really nice healthy 300 gram morphs (Male) for 99 bucks! I can only get one. I'm not interested in pinstripes, (4 on sale for price being Pins, Spiders, YB's, and Pastels) but I want to start 2 projects in the upcoming year, An Ivory project, and a Bumblebee project. I absolutely fell in love with this intensely colored Spider today, but I also have the chance to buy a male Yellowbelly. My fem. Pastel is around 800 grams, so I'm thinking with some good steady feeding (previous owner had her on mice still..) she could be breeding weight next year (side question- is this even possible?) Whereas I could NOT afford a 800 gram female YB anywhere...and so I'd have to buy a little female this winter...and it would be quite a few years before I get any ivories. BUT! I think this is a fairly good price, (is it?) and I wouldn't mind making some YB Pastels next year.
Then again, my Pastel has not been sexed by me, or anyone else while she's been in my possession, and there's the horrible possibility she could be a he. I'm taking it on heresay that she's a she right now.
**sigh** I applaud you if you've gotten this far, or made any sense of my ramblings.
What would you do, lol?

Re: Decisions!! DECISIONS!
Can you take your pastel to the store to have him/her popped?

WOW, and this is in Kansas? I would really LOVEEEEE to partake in this sale...

I would go with the spider male, and when your ready for a YB male I would check out BHB.

Not many people seemed worked up over the ivorys lately but I really like them. Plus their potential to breeding projects is great. Most people would probably go for a spider but I really think a good pastel belongs in everyones collection. Don't think you can go wrong with any choice. Luck:)

@GoFride- I took her in today, actually, and the snake manager was very busy (BUSY day) and wasn't comfortable popping a snake her size. I thought that was a bit silly, but I'm going to see if I can call and see if he's available to probe on a slower day. Worse comes to worse, I'll make an appt. at a herp vet. I have time, as I won't have to make a firm decision for a couple of weeks.
@Jessica- It's Pet World in Lawrence- http://www.petworldlawrence.com/ Always happy to promote them. ^.^ Many other morphs are on sale as well (Gorgeous ghosts) but they're out of my budget, lol. You can check out new hatchlings on their high-end snake page, but those are just the hatchlings and don't reflect the prices of the year-old in-store snakes.
@Cendalla- I think that's ridiculous! People SHOULD be worked up over them, lol. xD I do already have my Pastel female, as mentioned, so I don't really feel the need to get another, haha, unless she pans out to be a male.
grr, I'm just so dang conflicted!

@Sama- Wow! Okay, yeah. Their prices are incredibly good, and I really respect those guys. I would love to buy from them one day. I think I'm gonna have to go with your suggestion, Thank you!!
