    Purchased my first balls :D
I am a newly registered member. I am active on the boa forums since those are the snakes my husband and I have always had.

Well, we left the Myrtle Beach Reptile Expo and ended up picking up some ball pythons. These are the first ball pythons we have purchased and we are excited to have these balls. This first snake is just plain hot. He is a black pewter.

The second ball python we got was a pastel male. The breeder gave us this pastel since we officially purchased our first ball python ever. He said, "Everyone needs to have a pastel in their collection, so pick one out." It was really nice of him and how can you say no to a free snake from the same breeder that you already bought from?

We do have a rescued ball python that is pet quality. He has broken ribs and was hardly fed for the 6 years prior to us getting him. He is just in bad shape and it wasn't a snake I wanted to have but if I didn't take it, it was going to die since it was on its death bed. Now 4 years later, that snake seems to be as healthy as he could be but he will always remain a rescued ball.

However, these snakes we got yesterday are definitely the first balls we have ever purchased.

    Hope you enjoy! :D

The Black Pewter is absolutely stunning! The Pastel is beautiful too. :gj: Nice blushing on him, you chose nicely. And I'm glad to here your rescue is doing fine now. Poor thing must've been in such pain. :hmm:

Thanks for the welcome. I have plenty more snakes but they are mostly boa constrictors...lol I just love snakes. :D I will make a post about the rescued ball python. It is definitely a story all on its own.

Thanks for the welcome. I didn't know anything about black pewters when we got it. I just knew that it was beautiful. The ball python genetics is just so massive compared to boa constrictors. I will get there. I plan on learning it now...lol

Thanks! The black pewter just called my name. I kept going back and looking at them. I made my phone die while researching the breeders name on the BOI in a building that I had no service to be doing this in. The breeder was trying to tell me why the one I picked was nicer than the others with the blushing and stuff. The pastel is growing on me. The rescue is doing great but the story will break your heart. I will post in another thread since it has nothing to do with these 2 new balls.

I'm quite curious to hear his story, I'll look out for that thread once you post it.
