    3 inch heat tape
I was wondering if one strip of 3 inch heat tape would be enough to keep the snakes warm and have them metabolize correctly? Also where would be the best spot to put the tape, in the very back, 1/4th from the back, or half way? Thanks as always!!!

We have used the 3 inch heat tape on everything from small colubrids in tubs to 13ft+ burms in Vision cages.

Run it across the back of the cage, from underneath. Running it at the back of the cage allows for a better temp gradient to the cool side of the cage (front).

Always use a heat controller, either thermostat or rheostat.

Ok I was just wondering if I should move it up so they have more surface area with the heat rather than if it were in the very back where the heat tape just aligns with the tub. I am not talkin like all the way up but just forward of the back. Thanks!!

One or two inches forward should be fine. But the heat still dissipates out and makes for a temp gradient.
